I have decided to get back into writing about music. The inspiration came from the recent reunion of one of my favourite bands, The New Rising Sons (www.myspace.com/mugofbrimstone). I realised that my enthusiasm for this band has never dwindled, however this band is essentially shrouded in mystery for me, I only ever read one online interview with them and it didnt really address anything that I was interested in in relation to the band. As I had lots of questions I came to the conclusion I should just try and get them answered myself. So after a little email tennis with guitarist Kevin McGinnis we are gearing up to have a chat, to delve into how this band initally came to be, why that album with Virgin never happened, why they split and how it finally came down to this reunion.

This blog will hopefully give me an opportunity to talk to individuals from bands that I have loved over the years, the types of bands that never got the attention they deserved and mainly because I hate having unanswered questions relating to the bands I love.

Im not sure how regularly these interviews will happen, I guess it will be as the opportunities arise. Hopefully it may give you cause to check out some bands you never heard of, maybe overlooked or it may just answer questions that have nagged at you too about one of your favourtite bands.
